About CBD Oil
Hemp Oil refers to the oil extracted from the stalk of the hemp plant. It is a naturally occurring constituent of industrial hemp. Our hemp extract is a full spectrum CO2 oil extraction of an industrial hemp variety of Cannabis sativa. Hemp and CBD (as opposed to marijuana) are usually ideal for extractions as they are naturally high in phyto-cannabinoids and low in THC, making it superior to most high-THC marijuana strains for other beneficial compounds.
Because the CO2 extraction used to make our oils yields a full spectrum extract, our oils contain many nutrients. Our Hemp oils contain over 80 different phyto-cannabinoids, most prominently CBD, CBC, CBG, CBN, and probably others yet to be adequately identified. In addition to the cannabinoids present in our industrial hemp and CBD oil extracts, there are also many other types of natural molecules and phyto-chemical compounds such as amino acids, carbohydrates, vitamins (including B1, B2, B6, D), fatty acids (including omega 3 & 6), trace minerals (including iron, zinc, calcium, magnesium, potassium), beta-carotene, chlorophyll, flavonoids, ketones, nitrogenous compounds, alkanes, glycosides, pigments, water, and terpenes. The most common terpenes in our CBD and hemp oils are Myrcene, Beta-caryophyllene, Terpinolene, Linalool, alpha-Pinene, beta-Pinene, Nerolidol og Phytol, trans-alpha-Bergamotene, Limonene/ beta-Phellandrene (Co-elution), and alpha-Humulene.
The hemp we use is grown on family farms in select USA locations such as Oregon, Kentucky and Colorado where it is legal to do so, and is done under the regulations of the governing bodies in those countries. Because we derive our cannabidiol rich CBD oil from different hemp cultivars that are grown in multiple locations under different conditions, there is a natural variance in taste and sometimes color. We’ve systematically sought out the most beautiful and healthy hemp cultivars for our raw ingredients used in manufacturing, and we always test for purity and potency, so even if there is a variance, it is one that succeeded approval through our rigid quality assurance system. Hemp, because of its innate ability to thrive so easily doesn’t require pesticides (the aromatic terpene compounds in hemp can actually act as natural pesticides), fertilizers, or herbicides in its cultivation, and requires much less water than standard commercial farming. The hemp we use is grown under the same methods and standards of organic farming, but at this time there is no actual legal procedure for the organic certification of hemp cultivation in the countries we import from. We’re expecting the process for organic certification of hemp to be available within hopefully a year, and we will officially certify our Hemp and CBD oil products as soon as that’s possible.
CBD oil is extracted through a high pressured CO2 extraction system, and it is then exported from an FDA-registered facility overseas, and imported into the U.S. under FDA tariff codes. To determine the purity and potency of every batch of CBD Oil, each extraction is analyzed through a High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) system, a Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) system, and other methods to test for aerobic organisms, yeast, fungus, E. coli, pesticides, heavy toxic metals, cannabidiol (+ other cannabinoid) potency, and terpenes. With these multiple analyses performed we can weigh the CBD extract for making our blends knowing that the content is pure and consistent throughout every batch of CBD oil we make. Then, once our final CBD oil products are prepared we have them further analyzed, once again, for their potency and purity by a company based out of Colorado, where we adhere to international ISO standards and whose head scientist is a recognized worldwide expert.
